Privacy Policy
Effective date and last updated: November 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Curiosity (“Daily Curiosity,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit daily-curiosity.com (the “Site”). It also explains the choices and rights available to you. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information. We collect the following categories of information:
- Device and usage information, collected automatically: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language settings, screen size, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring and exit pages, and the date and time of each visit.
- Approximate location, such as country, state, or city, inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation.
- Campaign and referral information, such as values in the page address (for example
utm_sourceorutm_campaign) that show which advertisement, partner, or website referred you. We keep these in your browser’s session storage for the duration of your visit. - Information you provide: if you email us or use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Online identifiers, such as cookie IDs and advertising identifiers set by us or our partners.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons, tags, scripts, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies. They help us:
- Operate the Site: deliver pages, keep the Site secure, and remember session information.
- Measure performance: understand how visitors use the Site and which content is popular.
- Advertise: show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and, where permitted, personalize ads.
- Detect fraud: identify invalid traffic, bots, and abuse.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you do, some features may not work as intended, and you will still see ads, though they may be less relevant.
3. Interest-Based Advertising
The Site is supported by advertising. We work with third-party advertising partners, ad networks, and content recommendation networks that display ads and recommended content on the Site, and with networks that we use to promote our own articles on other websites.
These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to the Site and other websites over time, such as pages viewed and ads clicked. They use it to deliver ads that may interest you (“interest-based” or “targeted” advertising), to measure ad and campaign performance, and to prevent fraud. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Many of our partners participate in industry self-regulatory programs. See Your Choices and Opt-Outs to learn how to limit interest-based advertising.
4. Analytics
We use third-party analytics providers to understand how visitors find and use the Site, for example how many people visit, which articles they read, and how long they stay. These providers may set their own cookies and receive device and usage information such as your IP address and pages viewed. We use the results in aggregated form to improve our content and the Site.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content
- Understand reader interests and measure the performance of our articles
- Display advertising and recommended content, and measure advertising and marketing campaigns
- Promote the Site through advertising on other websites and measure those campaigns
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, invalid traffic, security incidents, and abuse
- Respond to your messages, corrections, and requests
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use
7. Your Choices and Opt-Outs
You can limit interest-based advertising from many participating companies with these industry tools:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) WebChoices: optout.aboutads.info and youradchoices.com (including the AppChoices tool for mobile apps)
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): optout.networkadvertising.org
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): turn on GPC in a supported browser or extension. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, and on mobile devices you can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking in your device settings. Opt-outs are usually stored in cookies, so clearing cookies, switching browsers, or using a different device may require you to opt out again. Opting out does not stop all ads; the ads you see will simply be less tailored to you.
8. Your U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you live in California (under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, “CCPA/CPRA”) or in another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the following rights, subject to legal exceptions:
- Right to know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information)
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not deny you service or treat you differently for exercising your rights
How to submit a request. Email privacy@daily-curiosity.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us which right you want to exercise and the state you live in. Because we do not maintain accounts, we may ask for information such as the device, browser, and approximate dates of your visits so we can verify and locate relevant data. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority. We will respond within the time required by law, usually 45 days.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@daily-curiosity.com with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal.” We will respond in writing within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response to your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
9. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing advertising partners to collect information through cookies and similar technologies on the Site for interest-based advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under some state laws. You can opt out in any of these ways:
- Global Privacy Control: we honor GPC signals. When your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser.
- Email: send a request to privacy@daily-curiosity.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.”
- Industry tools: use the opt-out tools listed in Your Choices and Opt-Outs.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@daily-curiosity.com and we will delete it.
11. International Visitors
The Site is operated for readers in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed in these locations.
12. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law:
- Campaign and referral information stored in session storage is deleted when you close your browser tab.
- Analytics and server log data are kept for no longer than 26 months, then deleted or aggregated.
- Emails and contact messages are kept for up to 24 months after we last respond, unless needed longer to resolve a dispute or comply with law.
- Privacy requests and their outcomes are kept for 24 months, as required to document compliance.
Our advertising and analytics partners retain information according to their own policies.
13. Security
The Site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Third-Party Links and Content
The Site contains advertisements, recommended content, and links to websites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will provide a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
